9 months with evelyn

Sweet Evelyn,

You like your bed and bunny, though on rare occasions you need to be rocked and snuggled to sleep.   You are a good eater with two teeth, but you can be stubborn when you aren’t in the mood.  We distract you with spoons, straws, and cheerios.  At your doctor appointment, we learned that you are a tiny, healthy babe.  12th percentile.  So, you are allowed to eat butter and avocados for extra calories.  You are moving constantly – crawling, standing up, even walking around furniture.  Non-toys are your favorite, like the remote, shoehorns, or books.  After a bath, you prefer to do a little dancing.

Being your mama has made my heart full.  Your hands make quick pitter-patter noises as you crawl towards your papa when he comes home at night.  You recognize his voice on the phone, and you save your best smiles for him.  You have learned to say our names.  While you are independent most of the time, you know where to turn for comfort.
